ABC Online Administration and Classroom Management System
First, you must be either an institutional or accredited member of ABC to obtain this system. Because the fee varies depending on the size of the college and the form of your existing data, you will need to talk to our IT representative about fee. However, the installation begins at about $350 with a monthly fee beginning at $25 - if you will enter all of your student data and class data manually and require no data conversions of existing data. For example, if you enter your own data, a school would pay only $375 dollars initially (installation plus first month, but empty data tables). This includes everything that you need for an online website presence, administration data interface and classrooom management system. Monthly fees after installation are $25 per one hundred students. While some colleges require $100 per course from students for online course fees using sometimes less user friendly systems, we allow you to offer it at about less than a dollar per semester per student, regardless of the number of courses.
Data conversions $1 per student (active or inactive kept on the rolls), $0.50 per course, then $0.25 per registration line (double if difficulties or manual data entry required). For example, if a school kept their data in an Excel spreadsheet for student data, courses, and transcript/registration lines, a college or 200 students, 50 courses and 840 transcript/registration lines could have their data intially converted and installed for $435 having a working administrative and classroom system immediately upon conversion and installation for a total of $810 in the first month with working and complete data tables for students, courses and registration.
In most cases, schools have staff to manually enter data and can save a great deal. When you consider that the most popular college classroom system used by universities worldwide charges a quarter to a half million dollars annually for their system, this is amazingly cheap. Actually, many have found our system more user friendly. What's more, it is tailored to the needs of Christian colleges, universities and seminaries and backed by the Association of Bible Colleges. Our IT director founded Global Publications and Software (GP&S) established to create websites, programming, and design since 1995 supporting major corporations and nonprofits for decades.
Also, the classroom management system includes an exam builder where instructors can create numerous types of questions, to include essay, short answer, matching, true/false, and multiple choice. Essay and short answers allow the instructor to grade and give detailed feedback the students will see in their gradebook. Class forum assignments are included. We do not store papers and other file type assignments, however, as they are handled through automated assignment email links to the instructor, thus saving the school a large amount of storage fees. The gradebook offers a facsimile of the exam for the student to view automatic grading of multiple choice, true/false and some short answer grades, as well as a detailed discussion of essay and close short answers.
Students will always be able to see their course grades in an unofficial transcript page always available to them. Registration is automated. Once the advisor lists available courses in the system for students, they need only click on a registration link to register for the course on the registration page. There is even a library management system that is interfaced with the website, including links to .pdf books.
This system has been used for years by a bible college and was found to be one of the most user friendly systems available. This probably one of the better advantages of choosing ABC for your association/accreditation for your Christian school.
